Working local utility: svg-clean.
A vector drawing can look right and still be awkward to move into the next application. It may carry unnecessary editor data, active content or geometry that needs attention before manufacturing preparation. Those are different problems, so a single “clean it” button is not enough.
svg-clean gives me three distinct choices: reduce unnecessary file content, remove active content, or prepare cutting geometry. The important requirement is preservation. An optimization should not change the picture; a geometry cleanup should not quietly move the intended cut line.
The tool produces before-and-after reports, including file sizes and a visual comparison. A smaller file is not a win if the drawing changed. Equally, a file that mostly wraps a bitmap may have little to gain from vector optimization. Reporting that honestly is better than manufacturing an impressive percentage.
There is a local browser version and a batch utility. The browser version can work without uploading the drawing. I am showing the purpose and the checks here while keeping the working tool and reusable internals private. If your design files repeatedly get stuck between applications, that is a practical problem worth discussing.
